The story focuses on helping a female character escape a facility in a 4-6 hour campaign. Instead of wrestling with virtual sticks or controls, however, the game puts you in an oversight mode as if you are viewing everything from surveillance systems.  You can create distractions but tapping on a computer in a room and hacking it giving the main character a way past guards or you can simply guide the character through the shadows.  One of the more unique features is the fact the game will call you when it needs your help, which really adds to the immersion aspects of the game.

It really is a unique take on mobile gaming and after reaching it’s goal on the fundraising site, Kickstarter.com, it looks to be heading our way in late 2012 or early 2013.

Ken Levine released a statement this morning saying why Irrational Games will be delaying their much-anticipated release until February 26, 2013:

A MESSAGE FROM KEN LEVINE

When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing.

Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible.

I won’t kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Deco.

The same principle now applies to BioShock Infinite.

What does this mean for you? It means a bit more waiting, but more importantly, it means an even better BioShock Infinite. The great can be made greater, and we owe it to both ourselves and to you, our fans, to take this opportunity. Irrational Games is one of those rare developers lucky enough to ask the people who sign the checks: “Hey, can we have a few more of those checks?”

We are also going to hold off on showing BioShock Infinite at the big events of the summer, like E3 and Gamescom. That way, the next time you see our game, it will be essentially the product we intend to put in the box. Preparing for these events takes time away from development, time we’re going to use instead to get the best version of Infinite into your hands in February.

Here’s hoping that the adventure with Booker and Elizabeth is worth waiting for.

Barbarian – Barbarians are savage wanderers who never flinch from close-quarters combat. Mighty ground stomps, leaping attacks and dual-wielded slashes leave a barbarian’s enemies dead in their boots and send any survivors fleeing for cover.

Demon Hunter – Demon hunters are relentless vigilantes who execute their infernal targets with an arsenal of ranged weapons. They crouch and take aim far from danger, relying on bows, deadly traps, and projectiles to swiftly bring an end to the creatures that haunt their world.

 Monk – Monks are sacred warriors who channel divine power through sheer force of will. Healing waves, mantras of protection and attacks empowered with holy might are all within their purview.

Witch Doctor – Witch doctors are spiritual warriors who summon dead souls and crawling creatures to do their bidding. By surrounding themselves with conjured zombies and vermin, witch doctors are free to assault their enemies with exploding skulls, acrid poison clouds, and wasting curses.

Wizard – Wizards are renegade spellcasters who use their bodies as vessels for arcane energy, forsaking the more careful path favored by other magic users. They manipulate all manner of forces to disintegrate, burn, and freeze their foes, and they can control time and light to teleport, create powerful illusions, and deflect oncoming attacks.

Dawnguard is set to release this summer. We can expect to hear more about the DLC at E3.

Apparently, the first two installment of Skyrim DLC will be Xbox 360 exclusive:

Bethesda informs me that the first two DLCs were announced ages ago as 360 exclusives.

“Six months after being tricked into killing his wife and child, a younger Kratos is sentenced to a life of madness with the Furies, caged in a titan sized prison for the living damned. Armed with double-chained blades, Kratos must take on mythology’s darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles throughout his merciless quest for redemption.”

There you have it, God of War: Ascension is coming and it sounds incredibly ambitious.  What has you more excited, the single player or the new multiplayer?

Originally, Activision planned to have a reveal event on May 1, so this leak definitely threw a wrench into their plans. Stay tuned for updates about how they plan to adjust course in light of this news and if they have more information to reveal about their flagship shooter.

All shenanigans aside, of the little I have seen, the level design is awesome. Sony takes a mix-mash of different games and creates dynamic and interactive levels. For example, one level features the All-Stars dukin’ it out in front of God of War 3′s Hades as he uses his hooks to transform portions of the level. It keeps the players on their toes and adds a little bit of extra excitement to the mix.

As a major fan of Super Smash Bros back in the day, I am pretty excited about this game. We have no idea when it’s going to be released, but keep checking back for updated news on this title as well as many others!

Moviegoers will begin their Recall experience on Sunday, April 1, as Columbia Pictures debuts the trailer for the highly anticipated action thriller Total Recall during the NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat broadcast nationally on ABC, it was announced today by Marc Weinstock, president of Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures. Total Recall will be released in theaters nationwide on August 3, 2012.
