Activision Gets Pwnd

Modern Warfare 2 airport terroristA couple of pranksters decided to send the following email to Activision regarding the controversial “No Russian” level of Modern Warfare 2:

“Every time I get up to Act 1, Mission 4, the game appears to load fine at first, but then when I encounter the enemies, I discover that nearly all of them are rendered without weapons.  They aren’t even programmed to melee me either. There are a small number of baddies with guns, but it’s not until the end of the mission that most of them have weapons.”

Activision bought it:

“This does not appear to be a known issue with the game. Does this occur for you when playing on a different Xbox 360 as well? Make sure that your Xbox 360 console is in a well ventilated area to prevent overheating.”

Pwnd.

Borderlands DLC Release Date Announced

2K-Announce-Borderlands-DLC-1So, the TWB boys and I have been a little obsessed over the last couple of weeks.  Countless hours each night have been spent exploring the world of Pandora, killing Bandits and fighting over that next slightly better weapon amongst all of the dropped loot.  Borderlands is heaven.

Granted, we now have a little treasure from Infinity Ward that will rob us of all of our wasteland coop goodness, and that’s ok; I know it won’t be long before Borderlands is calling my name again.  However, Gearbox is throwing a little DLC our way, just to ensure that we DO come back.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned will be available on XBL and PSN come November 24th and will run you $9.99 (or 800 MS Points in Microsoft Land).  The DLC will feature, you guessed it, zombies; as well as a whole new area to explore and hopefully some new weapons.

Sadly, PC players are out of luck.  Gearbox has made no comment on whether this is the only DLC that will be released, or if it is first in the series.

Ok, now its time to get back to Modern Warfare 2. :)

Modern Warfare 2 “Infamy” Trailer

The new trailer from Infinity Ward’s much-anticipated FPS title has released early on the interwebs.  It was originally supposed to debut on GTTV with Geoff Keighly, but then Gameinformer.com got it hands on it and everybody decided an early launch was in order.  Anyway, it turns out to be a big ”win” for gamers everywhere as we all can see it about six hours ahead of schedule.

If this game wasn’t on your radar before, it needs to be…right now.  What is seen in the trailer proves beyond all doubt that IW has created another masterpiece that integrates tried-and-true gameplay, compelling storytelling, and huge jaw-dropping moments.  I won’t ruin the ”big reveal” that game journalists and IW have been touting, but its huge and I can’t wait to see how MW2 utilizes it in the storyline.

Watch the trailer below then immediately go out and pre-order this game – something tells me you might want to, just in case.
