Splinter Cell Conviction Launch Trailer

In our circles, there is a lot of excitement for Splinter Cell Conviction, the latest in Ubisoft’s spy “drama”. While we may be more interested in the co-op experience, there is still quite a bit of anticipation over what will unfold in the story of Sam Fisher. Splinter Cell Conviction: Prepare to Man Up.

In preparation for the impending of the much delayed Splinter Cell:  Conviction, Ubisoft has released a breakdown of what you can expect you when jump into the game with a friend.  Each video emphasizes a different aspect from, simple co-op campaign to the deniable ops mode and even the “leveling up” system.

The only thing that mutes my excitement for Splinter Cell’s co-op is it’s limit of 2 players in each mode. Is this a deal breaker? We’ll seen on April 13th.

Splinter Cell Conviction Delayed….but there’s a video

Ubisoft announced at a recent shareholders meeting that Splinter Cell Conviction would not release on it’s previously announced date of February 23, but instead would now come out in April.  This is sad news for the many fans (ie Corey) who were excited by an actual release date after many delays over the past 3 years.  The news does have two silver linings though. One is the release of a new trailer (release date now missing) and the other is the reason for the delay.

Early word was that the game had a few graphical hitches.  There is even rumblings that when the game went to certification within Ubisoft it got sent back.  Surely Ubisoft does not want to taint one of it’s trademark franchises so they have delayed it to clean it up.   Looks like the first quarter of 2010 is clearing up from what was previously thought.
