BEYOND: Two Souls – The Secret is Out!

If there is one stand out game from E3 this year, my choice would be Quantic Dream’s (the creator of Heavy Rain) BEYOND: Two Souls. I had read that Quantic Dream was up to something and well… this is it! I loved Heavy Rain, the story telling, interaction and design tone. From the very little we have seen of BEYOND, the game seems to nail that same gritty vibe that Heavy Rain had and the very engaging emotions and setting. Speaking of emotions, the fact that Ellen Page is cast as the main character is a huge win.

I will say that some of the facial movements do stand out in a bad way, but this is the first trailer to be released so it can only get better right…? But with that minor criticism aside, the dialog and acting really draw you in and hold your attention. Embedded below is the E3 first look video that was played during the Sony Press Conference and it extends the first dialog scene from the trailer. It really does blow my mind! With Quantic Dream at the helm, I am confident that the final product will deliver in all the same ways that Heavy Rain did. We don’t get to see any game-play, but again, I trust Quantic Dream to make me forget I am holding a controller and put me right in the shoes of the protagonist.
