New DLC Coming to Left 4 Dead 2

Left-4-Dead-2-Cold-Stream

After a long wait, Left 4 Dead 2 fanatics are finally going to be able to revisit Death Toll, Dead Air, Crash Course, and Blood Harvest in a new DLC offering from Valve. Dubbed “Cold Stream,” the downloadable content will be free and will also include a new fan-made map that goes by the same name.  The content was originally announced over a year and half ago via blog post and a public beta went live on Steam just a month after that.

According to Cinema Blend, that’s not all that Valve has in store for gamers when the DLC goes live:

Cold Stream‘s release on the 360 will be accompanied by a new update for the game. This update will allow players to use mutations – modifiers to the game mechanics – at all times. You can create or join matches with Taannkk!, Gib Fest, and other mutations.

Valve is teasing some other “surprises and details.” Maybe Cold Stream will be accompanied by even more free content? They’ll announce this mystery information in the coming weeks.

The wait is just about over.  You can start slaying zombies again when the update goes live on July 26.
